Services and Payment

I provide the following services. Rates are also listed. I do offer sliding scale rates to clients.

Initial Intake and Assessment (45-60 minutes): $150

Individual therapy: $150

In individual therapy, a client meets one-on-one with a staff member in 50-minute sessions. Such a working relationship may last for only a few sessions or may continue for much longer, depending on the needs of the client. The frequency and duration of therapy will depend largely on a client’s needs, treatment goals, and progress. Many concerns are readily resolved with short-term therapy, and other chronic or more complex concerns require long-term commitment before improvement is realized. The first 3-4 sessions are important and crucial to the client-therapist relationship as rapport is established.

Clients prefer counseling for a wide range of reasons, hoping to feel and function better. Common issues include: general anxiety and stress, difficult childhood and family experiences (past and present), relationship struggles, depression, eating and body image issues. Clients also come in to work toward developing a better self-image, to explore existential themes (e.g. “What’s my purpose?” or “Why am I here?”), or to achieve personal growth in order to make their lives worth living and also improving the quality of their lives.

Family therapy: $150

Family therapy brings parents, siblings and extended family members such as aunts, uncles and grandparents into the treatment process. The family system has its own structure and patterns of communication, which may be defined by parenting style, personalities and other influences.

Every family is considered a system with every individual playing a specific role. Sometimes due to conflict, the system becomes ‘sluggish’ or ‘infected’. Family therapy may be helpful to:

  • Resolve a specific issue
  • Prepare the family for a major life change such as a divorce or remarriage
  • Address the role that family plays in an individual’s life

Benefits of family therapy includes helping to restore balance by healing the system, promoting family unit’s cohesiveness, improving overall family well-being and health, and improving communication between family members.

Group rates are based on the type of group being offered.

Group therapy (Non-DBT Group): $40/session
DBT Group: $50/session; Pre-Group screening (1-hour session): $75
